San Jacinto, Riverside County
San Jacinto was incorporated in 1888, before Riverside County itself existed, and few cities in the county are older. On July 14, 1937, three Soviet airmen landed in a cow pasture outside town after flying nonstop from Moscow over the North Pole, a world distance record, and a monument marks the spot. The Estudillo Mansion, a brick house built in 1885, is preserved in a city park.
